Spyro Re-Ignited Trilogy Benchmarks (Steam Deck)

Here are the benchmark results for Spyro Re-Ignited Trilogy:

For Quality (60FPS):

  • Medium Preset (Or Ultra for 30FPS)
  • 15W TDP
  • Expect about 2 Hours of Battery Life

For Battery Life (30FPS):

  • Low Preset
  • 5W TDP
  • Expect about 4 Hours of Battery Life
You could run the game at Ultra, 30FPS perfectly well. However for a platformer, I prefer to run at Medium, 60FPS.

About the Game:

Same sick burns, same smoldering attitude, now all scaled up in stunning HD, Spyro is back in the Spyro™ Reignited Trilogy! Rekindle the fire with remastered versions of the original three games, Spyro™ the Dragon, Spyro™ 2: Ripto's Rage! and Spyro™: Year of the Dragon.

Space Engineers Benchmarks (Steam Deck)

Here are the benchmark results for Space Engineers:

To Run at 30FPS:

  • Low (Shadows & Post-Processing Disabled)
  • 15W TDP
  • Expect 110 Minutes of Battery Life
We do not recommend this game for Steam Deck, the controls are difficult to use given the complexity of the game's UI, and stuttering is ever-present, even if the averages can hold 30FPS on low settings.

Our test on high settings resulted in the Steam Deck crashing, including the OS, requiring a hard-reset of the system.

We recommend disabling shadows anyway, as the game does have issues with integrated GPU's resulting in shadows flickering. The same happens on AMD G-Series processors.

About the Game:

Space Engineers is a sandbox game about engineering, construction, exploration and survival in space and on planets. Players build space ships, space stations, planetary outposts of various sizes and uses, pilot ships and travel through space to explore planets and gather resources to survive.

For Quality (60FPS):

  • Very High (AO and AA On)
  • 10W TDP
  • Expect 2 1/2 Hours of Battery life

For Battery Life (30FPS):

  • Medium (AO and AA Off)
  • 4W TDP
  • Expect 5 Hours of Battery Life

Divinity: Original Sin II Benchmarks (Steam Deck)

Here are the benchmark results for Divinity: Original Sin II:

Recommended Settings:

Given the gameplay, we recommend Ultra settings for Steam Deck users. The game runs generally in the 50's, and never drops below 30FPS. The game is perfectly enjoyable at these levels. Dropping to Medium ensures a constant 60FPS. There is no advantage to Low settings as the CPU becomes the bottleneck at this point.

Minor stuttering through-out on every setting, given the type of game however, it's hard to notice.

About the Game:

The critically acclaimed RPG that raised the bar, from the creators of Baldur's Gate 3. Gather your party. Master deep, tactical combat. Venture as a party of up to four - but know that only one of you will have the chance to become a God.

Available on Steam:

BattleBit Remastered Benchmarks (Steam Deck)

Here are the benchmark results for BattleBit Remastered:

Recommended Settings:

The game mostly runs at 60FPS or close to when on Ultra settings, stutters when opening the map or scoreboards. Can drop into the 50's in intense moments. High is recommended for a very smooth experience that will be fine for most players.

There is a community layout for controls on Steam that is optimized for the Steam Deck, takes a bit of getting used to, but it works fine once you are.

About the Game:

BattleBit Remastered is a low-poly, massive multiplayer FPS, supporting 254 players per server. Battle on a near-fully destructible map with various vehicles!

Available on Steam:

Rocket League Benchmarks (Steam Deck)

Here are the benchmark results for Rocket League:

Recommended Settings:

Quality with SMAA On ensures an almost constant 60FPS on at least the majority of maps. We didn't test any settings lower than quality as any extra gains in performance would have minimal effect on the playing experience. High Quality frequently dips into the 50's, and therefore we don't recommend it for competitive play.

About the Game:

Rocket League is a high-powered hybrid of arcade-style soccer and vehicular mayhem with easy-to-understand controls and fluid, physics-driven competition.

Civilization VI Benchmarks (Steam Deck)

Here are the benchmark results for Civilization VI:

Recommended Settings:

High Settings, given the nature of the game, 30FPS is adequate for a decent playing experience.

Benchmarks taken from the in-game benchmark test, which takes place fairly far into the game, so performance should stay close to 30FPS even on High.

Ultra resulted in a crash to desktop, so we don't recommend trying those settings.

About the Game:

Civilization VI is the newest installment in the award winning Civilization Franchise. Expand your empire, advance your culture and go head-to-head against history’s greatest leaders. Will your civilization stand the test of time?

Cities: Skylines Benchmarks (Steam Deck)

Here are the benchmark results for Cities: Skylines:

Recommended Settings:

Low Settings, no Anti-Aliasing or Depth of Field. The game will essentially never run at 30FPS, as you reach Low settings, the CPU becomes the bottleneck and once you get to larger cities, expect to only reach around 20FPS even on the lowest settings.

Benchmarks were taken on a city with a population of around 35,000.

About the Game:

Cities: Skylines is a modern take on the classic city simulation. The game introduces new game play elements to realize the thrill and hardships of creating and maintaining a real city whilst expanding on some well-established tropes of the city building experience.

Available on Steam:

Beam.NG Benchmarks (Steam Deck)

Here are the benchmark results for Beam.NG Drive:

Recommended Settings:

Normal settings for a fairly stable 30FPS experience depending on the map. Low can manage 60 or close to it on most maps. Lowest offers a slight improvement, but not too noticeable and you get terrible LOD pop-in on Lowest. Tests were done without AI present, so lowest might help some more if you are playing with AI.

About the Game:

A dynamic soft-body physics vehicle simulator capable of doing just about anything.

Skyrim Special Edition Benchmarks (Steam Deck)

Here are the benchmark results for Skyrim Special Edition:

Recommended Settings:

Ultra settings for a stable 30FPS experience. Both High and Medium run at 60+ in quiet areas, but High will drop into the 40's in busy areas, and Medium to the low to mid 50's. Only Low seems to hold 60FPS the entire time.

The game has a 60FPS cap built-in, so you can't exceed 60FPS without modification, not that there's much point in doing that on a Steam Deck.

About the Game:

Winner of more than 200 Game of the Year Awards, Skyrim Special Edition brings the epic fantasy to life in stunning detail. The Special Edition includes the critically acclaimed game and add-ons with all-new features like remastered art and effects, volumetric god rays, dynamic depth of field and screen-space reflections

Available on Steam:

American Truck Simulator Benchmarks (Steam Deck)

Here are the benchmark results for American Truck Simulator:

Recommended Settings:

High settings mostly hold 60FPS, can experience dips in cities. Medium settings are best if you want an almost constant 60FPS. Low settings will always be 60 or higher, but you lose shadows, which in our opinion, isn't worth it.

About the Game:

Experience legendary American trucks and deliver various cargoes across sunny California, sandy Nevada, and the Grand Canyon State of Arizona. American Truck Simulator takes you on a journey through the breathtaking landscapes and widely recognized landmarks around the States.

Available on Steam:

Trackmania (2020) Benchmarks (Steam Deck)

Here are the benchmark results for Trackmania (2020):

Recommended Settings:

Trackmania is highly dependant on a high and stable FPS as it's primarily a competitive multiplayer game. Only the "Very Fast" preset with AA off delivers an experience that stays mostly above 60FPS in most maps. Therefore it's the only setting we can recommend. The game still looks fine.

Available on Steam:

Wreckfest Benchmarks (Steam Deck)

Here are the benchmark results for Wreckfest:

Recommended Settings:

Ultra settings for a 30FPS experience, the game barely stutters and can hold a fairly stable 30FPS on Ultra. Medium settings for 60FPS gameplay, again, no stuttering and after the initial start, the game usually stays above 60FPS.

About the Game:

Wreckfest is a demolition derby themed racing game with soft-body damage modeling, sophisticated driving dynamics and in-depth vehicle upgrading, featuring both demolition derbies and more traditional track races. It’s all about fun, breakneck racing and over-the-top crashes.

Available on Steam:

Satisfactory Update 7 Benchmarks (Steam Deck)

Here are the benchmark results for Satisfactory:

Recommended Settings:

Ultra settings for a 30FPS experience, otherwise I recommend Low for 60FPS. The game is likely approaching a CPU bottle-neck at Low settings, meaning the CPU more than the GPU is probably going to hold your FPS back once you start building large bases. Significant initial stutters on Ultra and High settings, which is normal for Unreal Engine games. Low settings seem to eliminate most stutters.

The game also offers a DirectX 11 setting which we did not test. An experimental Vulkan setting is available, however in tests it performed worse than the DirectX12 version, both in outright performance and stuttering.

About the Game:

Satisfactory is a first-person open-world factory building game with a dash of exploration and combat. Play alone or with friends, explore an alien planet, create multi-story factories, and enter conveyor belt heaven!

Available on Steam:

PlateUp! Benchmarks (Steam Deck)

Here are the benchmark results for PlateUp!:

Recommended Settings:

High if you don't mind slightly sub-60 performance, Low if you want a more stable 60FPS. The graphics settings do not really change the look of the game much, so you might prefer low just to have a nearly always 60FPS experience. Game seems to be CPU-bound, so settings have little affect on FPS. Because of this, the FPS might creep lower and lower as your restaurant gets busier.

About the Game:

Cook and serve your dishes, design and decorate your restaurants, and expand your culinary kingdom with new unlocks, abilities and dishes in procedurally-generated locations. Classic cooking action with permanent roguelite progression. Hire your friends - or do it all yourself!

Available on Steam:

Valheim Benchmarks (Steam Deck)

Here are the benchmark results for Valheim:

Recommended Settings:

Medium for 30FPS gameplay, Low for 60FPS, depending on your preference.

Game experiences significant stutters on high settings, making it essentially unplayable. Medium settings reduce those stutters to a slight annoyance, but playable. Low still has stutters, but they are mostly apparent during travel. We recommend using the Vulkan version.

About the Game:

A brutal exploration and survival game for 1-10 players, set in a procedurally-generated purgatory inspired by viking culture. Battle, build, and conquer your way to a saga worthy of Odin’s patronage!

Available on Steam:

Dinkum Benchmarks (Steam Deck)

Here are the benchmark results for Dinkum:

Recommended Settings:

High, 8 Chunk View Distance, Lock to 30 FPS.

The game appears to lock to 30FPS anyway when using low settings, likely a form of battery saving measure for laptops, so achieving 60FPS on a Deck is not possible.

About the Game:

G’Day! Get ready to start a new fair Dinkum life and build your new home out in the bush. Explore tropical eucalyptus forests, scorching deserts and cool billabongs on an Island inspired by the wild Australian outback. Take care of giant wombats, play with friends and get ready for a ripper time!
